Home & Away

An Evening of Piano Music and Stories

Winter Benefit Concert

Robin Meloy Goldsby, Steinway Artist, Composer and author

With special guests: Carol Habich-Traut and Janina Keppel

Robin Meloy Goldsby recounts her adventures in Germany as she learns a new language, adapts to a new culture, and finds new friends. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking, and always insightful, Goldsby’s lyrical stories reveal the triumphs and and trials of an expatriate life, as she connects her music to family, friends, and home, past and present. Home & Away will feature stories from Goldsby’s books (Piano Girl and Waltz of the Asparagus People) along with some of her recent compositions for solo piano. We’ll also celebrate the publication of Goldsby’s newest book, Manhattan Road Trip. The program will be presented in English. Robin will be joined by violist Carol Habich-Traut.

“Goldsby has a wicked sense of humor and a keen eye for the absurd. Big hearted, funny, truly eye-opening memoir.” Publishers Weekly Starred Review
